The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation
area is one of the most beautiful things Las Vegas has to offer off the
Strip. The beautiful red rocks, their different tones, forms and sizes
create one of the most breathtaking landscapes you will ever see. Red
Rock Canyon is visited by more than one million people each year.
Definitely a “must see” for locals and tourists.
At the park there are numerous trails for hiking and picnic areas.
Having a picnic at Red Rock on a Sunday afternoon was something I always wanted
to do, and today I finally did it. And we got lucky because the weather
was just perfect. A very mild temperature for late Fall, a nice breeze
and cloudy skies. We even went for a short hike after our fabulous picnic
lunch. We all brought different things to eat and ended up having a
buffet-style picnic, so a little hiking was in place to burn out a few calories.
It was such a good time among friends, good food, beautiful
scenery and picture taking.
Red Rock Canyon is food for your soul and spirit at only 17 miles
away from the Las Vegas Strip.
Bring plenty of drinking water, walking sneakers, sunscreen,
sunglasses, a hat and your camera. You’ll love it, l o v e it!
